Partnering Pedagogy

 

What is digital learning?  Do teachers and students use technology in the classroom?  How teachers can teach digital natives?  What do students expect from their teachers?   How much important is passion in the learning process?

These questions sound very usual in our world today where technology and knowledge are dynamic. Regarding to this, Teaching Digital Natives is a book by Marc Prensky. He is an American writer, consultant and speaker, inventor of terms “Digital Natives” and “Digital Immigrants”. His work has been very revolutionary in the apagogical field since he proposes an integration between technology and education like the learning trend for the 21st century.

  1. Great video! I think I got many interesting ideas about it. I love the way he talks about education, specially when he says that it should be more related to community problems, as he says does not matter the age of our students they clearly identify the problems in their houses, neighborhood and the world, perhaps their views is what can vary, but for that reason there are many different solutions they can come up with, so as he mentions we should not underestimate the power of our students. Other aspect that I am sure we have thought about is how now technology is kind of “replacing” us, but as he highlights if we train students to be the best in what they do, there will be no machine that can take their place. They are unique and incredible.

  2. Hello. The video was great. When the author said that exists a difference between how we were during our childhood, and the childhood of our children, I felt that he explained many thoughts about the education and the differences between each generation.
